My fiance purchased a 2020 Ram Limited from Gurnee Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in February 2025. During the purchase process, concerns were raised MULTIPLE times with the salesperson, sales manager, and finance manager regarding a mileage discrepancy appearing on the Carfax report. Each time, we were told the issue was simply a Carfax reporting error, that an investigation had already been opened, and that it would be corrected shortly. No documentation or case number for any alleged investigation was ever provided. Relying on those repeated representations — along with dealership paperwork certifying the mileage as accurate and indicating no title branding — the purchase moved forward. Shortly after the sale, Carfax confirmed directly that there was still an active mileage discrepancy on the VIN and that no investigation request had been submitted. Approximately six weeks later, the Wisconsin title arrived branded “ODOMETER – NOT ACTUAL,” which was the exact issue we had repeatedly questioned before purchase. The dealership was contacted immediately and repeatedly by phone and email regarding the branded title issue. Those communications were largely ignored, leading to an Attorney General complaint being filed in May 2025. Even after the complaint was opened, communication from the dealership remained inconsistent for months. While there was occasional correspondence, regular communication from Mandy Martin on behalf of the dealership did not begin until approximately September 2025. From September 2025 through May 2026, we received repeated statements from Ms. Martin indicating the issue was “with the Secretary of State,” that paperwork was being processed, or that she was personally handling the matter and resolution was expected within a few weeks. Despite these repeated assurances, no meaningful progress appeared to occur for many months, and updates were generally only provided after repeated follow-up requests from us. In April 2026, I independently contacted the Illinois Secretary of State and was informed that the Illinois title had already been clean since 2023 and that there were no active title applications pending for this vehicle. After advising Ms. Martin and the Attorney General representative that I had confirmed this information directly with the Secretary of State, the corrected title was issued shortly thereafter. What is most disappointing is that this situation appears to have been resolvable long before May 2026 through straightforward communication and basic follow-through. Instead, the process involved more than a year of delays, inconsistent explanations, lack of transparency, and repeated failures to proactively communicate with the customer regarding a title issue that materially affected the vehicle. If a dealership is willing to go to such lengths to complicate and delay the resolution of an issue that ultimately required nothing more than accurate communication and basic administrative follow-through, it raises a broader concern: what else should the public reasonably be expected to question? Absolutely unacceptable experience with Gurnee Dodge. After purchasing my vehicle, I’ve been completely ignored regarding my permanent plates. My temporary registration is now expired, and no one will return my calls or emails. It’s frustrating that I may have to file formal complaints with the Illinois Attorney General and Secretary of State Dealer Division just to get this resolved. Once the sale was done, all communication stopped. If you’re considering buying here, beware — customer service disappears the moment they get your money.

As a veteran, I expect transparency and integrity when doing business — especially with a dealership that claims to serve the community. Unfortunately, my experience here was anything but honorable. I approved an $850 charge for the installation of side steps on my Jeep Wrangler, under the impression that the cost included fair pricing for both labor and parts. Later, I discovered they had inflated the price of the actual step parts. When I brought this up, Alex Godinez, the sales manager, dismissed my concern and said, “Well, we have to make a living.” That’s not how a reputable business should justify overcharging a customer. When I mentioned I would be writing a negative review to share my experience, Alex told me the review would be “blocked” — and then shockingly threatened to call my workplace and speak to a director. That’s not only unprofessional, it’s a clear attempt to intimidate me into staying quiet. No veteran — no customer — should ever be treated this way. If you plan to do business with this dealership, triple-check all pricing, get everything in writing, and be prepared for hostility if you question anything. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I came to see a used vehicle on 3/5/25 and Mitchell was our attending salesman. While Mitchell was very attentive and responsive to our needs, we eventually couldnt reach a deal for the vehicle. We did not expect any further communication from the dealership and were therefore surprised when an employee named Lina texted us that same day about reconsidering. In the text, Lina suggested if we could consider "meeting in the middle" as a means for agreeing to purchase the vehicle. We responded back by saying we were open to her suggestion, but we were also concerned about the additional fees associated with purchasing the vehicle, such as the use of nitrile gas to inflate the tires at a cost of $200=300. We also questioned the $300 "doc fee" added, considering this was a used vehicle. We just wanted to make sure to let Lina know what our concerns were in coming up with an acceptable price for the vehicle, in addition to the price alone. To our surprise, Lina replied the following day that the price of the vehicle was firm and not negotiable. This was contrary to what she said initially and, in our view, the dealership was negotiating in bad faith. Nevertheless, we presented Lina with our revised offer reflecting a price halfway between our respective positions, along with a reasonable $300 "doc fee" to see if we can move forward on the sale of the vehicle. In response, Lina said the dealership couldn[t budge on their listed price and she asked we contact the dealership if we had a change of mind. She did not address the inconsistency in her earlier messages to us about reaching a middle ground on a price, something we eventually were amenable to (as shown by our latest offer). Sadly, we could not reach any further progress due to Lina's insistence that her dealership could not budge from the listed price, contrary to her initial message that the dealership was open to reaching a middle ground. I told Lina I was very disappointed with the dealership's position since it was inconsisten and, in our opinion, was negotiating in bad faith. Lastly, I told Lina I would provide feedback about this experience, which this writeup is intended.

I brought my Jeep Grand Cherokee in for the warrantee repairs of corrosion on the hood. A no brainer since it was authorized by Jeep as a recall. They drug the feet for months on "approval" and getting me an appointment and after 7 months and several calls I finally walk into the dealer and they say I have never been there and they have no record. 2 weeks prior the rep looked my Jeep up in the system and said he would get an answer by Friday, when I got no call I went in and suddenly I've never been a customer. Found out they don't make money of recalls so they chose not to do them, would have been easier to just tell me that, I would have gone elsewhere.

Sincerely wish that a rating of zero was an option because that is what I would rate this dealership. I am almost 60 years old and have bought over 30 vehicles both new and used over my lifetime. I have never worked with such an incompetent dealership that lies and has zero commitment to their customers! Customer service at this dealership is nonexistent. Back story: Looked at the website found a new jeep that fit what I was looking for and called the dealership. Asked questions about the vehicle and advised that I would call back if I decided to drive an hour to look at it. Called back told them I was heading their way and asked them to pull it up front. Did also confirm it was still available and was told it indeed was. Arrived at the dealership and was told that vehicle was totaled 3 days prior. Was this a huge misrepresentation / bait and switch? Certainly, feels like it. I did end up buying a new vehicle. It is now over 2 months since the purchase and still no title or plates. Upon contacting Austin, the assistant GM at the dealership without any research he blamed the delay on the state of WI saying that they are backed up. I contacted the state of WI to find out the dealership has never sent in the vehicle paperwork. Dealers in the state of IL have 20 days to get the paperwork sent or they are in violation. Sadly, upon calling the dealership back and sharing the paperwork was never sent in there was not even so much as an apology. Could have cared less. It’s been, lies, excuse after excuse and the un around. The current temporary plate expires in 3 weeks and the dealership told me I needed to call the state of IL to extend it. I asked for their help as their customer and the GM Alex told me no. I asked for the owner of the dealerships contact information and was told no. Asked that he have the owner call me and of course no call back. I will never be back, nor would I recommend this dealership to my worst enemy! Please think twice before visiting this dealership as I assumed this was a very reputable dealership that sadly turned out to a huge disappointment and time consumption to have to chase down what I paid them to do. I brought a 2023 Dodge Scat pack to the dealership for an oil change with the intention of paying more than a strictly oil shop for better service. A week after my oil change I got a car wash so I put my vehicle in storage for the winter I find the oil cap randomly in my engine with oil all over my engine. Obviously rain, soap, and debris are now inside my engine. I call and get told I have to be there within 15 min or they won't fix it even tho the shop doesn't close for hours... All they did was change the oil again while I waited 2.5 hours with no solution to corrosion or all the oil in my engine. The Service director Michael told me along with others I could get my money back.. that's before he leaves early and haven't been able to get him on the phone for a week. His excuse for the mechanic was "Normally she does better". Even a a little bit of water in your engine can cause corrosion and didn't even get apologized to... I've left the owner a email and no one has gotten back to me over $118... I planned on getting all my maintenance done at this dealership to find out that have terrible service and are liars. Wish I could give 5 stars.. now I wish I could give 0.

I had an amazing experience with Alonzo as my salesman, but that ended quickly with Mark(finance) and Briana’s (title) failure to adequately do their job. Mark spoke over me and raised his voice several times to me during my transaction. He was upset I was denying gap coverage and his response was to yell “You listen to me”. And when I brought to his attention that they have the incorrect name, “ Welp, looks like you’re in a pickle” chuckling. Frankly I’ve never been to an establishment that the audacity to think that type of behavior was professional. They put my vehicle under the wrong business name and yet over 100 days later I still do not have it corrected nor have my tags and registration as promised now for months. I had to twist their arm to get a bill of sale as I was provided absolutely nothing besides a temporary 90 day registration. Though I paid for them to provide my plates I had to purchased temporary 30 day tags to hopefully buy myself sometime to receive them from them at some point. Unfortunately I would not know because it’s been a week since they’ve spoken to me, not returning emails nor multiple voicemails left. I understand mistakes are made but not once but at least on five different notable occasions I’ve been lied to. If I could return the car and move on I would, unfortunately this nightmare continues.

Exceptional does not even cover it! We drove from MN on our way to MI. On our way out of the hotel parking lot at 6 am, our Grand Caravan started to sputter and we couldn't drive it. We tried for the highway realizing we wouldn't make it. We pulled into the parking lot and waited for the service department to open. Your Service Manager Doug is a true angel! The first thing he did was empathize that we were essentially stranded. We told him what was going on. He looked at us, said "calm down I am going to take care of you and get you on your way". And he did! He got us in first, and 1.5 hours later we were on our way to MI. Incredible. If this had happened at rush hour, in Chicago on the side of the road it would have been so bad. It was a ignition coil, and the maintenance tune up and clean out that we should have been taking care of over the last 10 years. This Grand Caravan has been the best vehicle we have ever bought. I am so sad they they are not being made anymore. Doug is a such a FABULOUS guy. We are still amazed at what he did for us. Doug's attention to us as PEOPLE is something all service managers should aspire to. He is the biggest asset you have in your dealership. He literally saved us that day. People like Doug are few and far between and you are lucky to have him representing your company. As a business owner myself, it's almost impossible to find people who care so much about your customers and your business and do their best. Doug could not have don't anything else to help us that day. What a great person.

Just bought my 3rd car from Gurnee CDJR, it is a bit of a drive past my local CDJR dealers but well worth it. Always a big selection of new and used cars but best of all, upfront pricing, (which they honor) very fair and good trade in allowances. (others wont step up) I am a real customer, bought from Angel in the past, this time from his brother Santiago, both know the product well. Honestly make a point of checking them out, I think you will be pleased. Last purchase 2022 Chrysler 300s, couldn't be happier.

I called 2 days before the appointment because I could not recall the time. Jason answered the phone call and I asked him what time my appointment was for the 29th. He proceeded to tell me he didn’t have anything booked for me for that day. He asked me who I had my the appointment with and I told him with you! I should have known from that point on this was going to be a horrible experience. He asked if I could come in around 11 am which I did. I went in for my appointment and had my vehicle serviced. I asked Jason what the process would be for my damaged rim since I had purchased a Mopart rim packet. He stated he would need to take pictures of the damage and submit a claim. I asked him how long it would take and he said roughly about a week. I let 2 weeks go by without hearing anything back from the dealership. I called 2 Fridays in a row trying to get a hold of Jason and was told both times by some names Humberto he was out. Humberto took down the message for Jason to follow backup with me which never happened!! I called on 7/24 to speak with Jason’s manager. He did not answer and I left a voicemail for him to follow up with me and here I am on 7/27 with no call back from the manager I believe his name is Michael. I called back this week and finally got a hold of Jason. He shared he had been out and the notes were probably somewhere on his desk. I asked him I needed an update on the claim and he said he would need to check on it and call me back. I asked him to have his manager call me. I am not quiet sure how a place like this dealership runs. Jason over promised and completely under delivered! I called on 7/27 and spoke with Alex another manager. He attempted to help me, but shared how the service department was closed and the manager was probably gone for the day. A few days after getting serviced I received a phone call from if I recall the individual introduced himself as Chris. He stated he was Jason’s boss and asked if I would fill out a survey pertaining to the service I received on 6/29. He said it went to my email and if I would complete it he would have my vehicle detailed next time. Yet I can’t even get a hold of ANYONE to share my experience and get an update. But the dealership was quick to ask for good survey results which the service I had received is not up to par! This has been such a terrible experience. The dealership service area clearly needs guidance and improvement on their customer service! I DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING SERVICED HERE!!!!!

I recently bought a Ram 1500 Bighorn. On the day I drove it home, one of the hamsters died. Just kidding. The service at Gurnee Dodge and the mechanics are truly better than any Chrysler Jeep, Ram dealership within many miles. The service personnel were courteous, professional, efficient and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the price of new vehicles has gotten sickening so it is my best interest to keep my truck well maintained so it will last a long time and Gurnee CJTR is exactly the right dealership to do this.

I’ve purchased five vehicles from this dealer, last two were in 2018. Part of the deal when the 2018 vehicles were purchased was to get free oil changes for five years on each. Shortly there after new management took over and they would not honor the deal so we stopped bringing our vehicles for service other than for a recalls.

My Truck has been in the service center since June 15, 2022. I was promised to have my truck complete by July 7th before my vacation. Mind you they worked on my truck for the same issue and obviously did not fix it. Douglas does not keep you informed as he said he will. The Sales Team was very good. The Finance Team tried VERY hard to sell me things that I was never interested in. This included having an outstanding personal credit rating but trying to screw me with an UNBELIEVABLE high interest rate. You are much better off finding your own financing.
